About the Project
The client had an Airbnb rental property in Manilva, with periodically high electricity bills. Marblanc Solar installed a 10kW system in order to keep bills low when tenants were at the property, and reduce the bill to €0 when it was unoccupied.
Background
The client was referred to Marblanc Solar. We set a date for a free solar survey, where we carried out a home visit, drone inspection, 3D shading analysis, savings estimation and custom proposal for the client.
During the home visit, the client explained the property was an AirBnb rental with high operating costs.
The client’s primary goal was to reduce monthly outgoings from tenants using the appliances, AC and pool. The client was also concerned that the solar installation may look “messy” and didn’t want the visual aspect to detract from any potential bookings.

Solution
With unpredictable electricity bills, it was difficult to promise an exact reduction. However our analysis showed a significant overall reduction in operating costs – as well as the opportunity to cut bills to €0 when tenants were not at the property.
The on-site drone inspection and 3D shading analysis carried out during the initial free solar survey helped us to determine there was enough space on to the roof for a 10kW system.
We mounted the 20 solar panels with concrete supports. After installation, we swapped the client’s bill to a new provider offering a feed-in tariff and virtual battery.
Our installation team took extra care to write cables through existing ducting to ensure no messy, visible wiring.
We then monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks. The client was assigned to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups for any future questions and to schedule their first free annual check-ups.
Results
The client was satisfied with the service from Marblanc Solar, in particular our proposal which delivered the promised €0 bills when tenants were not at the property.
