About the Project
The client wanted a solar battery and backup box to keep power during frequent blackouts. Marblanc Solar installed a 5.28kW solar energy system, which will also reduce electricity costs by 80%.
Background
The client had a property in Alhaurín de la Torre just outside the city of Málaga. They were referred to Marblanc Solar while searching for a solution to frequent power outages in the area.
Marblanc Solar has completed many solar installations in Málaga, and the client requested a free solar survey from us. We set a date for our survey engineer to carry out a home visit, drone inspection, 3D shading analysis, savings estimation and custom proposal.
During the home visit, our survey engineer asked for a recent electricity bill which showed an annual electricity cost of €1,800 a year.
We provided a proposal for a 5.28kw system which could reduce their electricity costs down to €30 a month, and maintain power for essential circuit in the event of a power outage – even at night.
The client accepted the proposals and we set a date for the installation.

Solution
Our team mounted 12 solar panels with a combined capacity of 5.28kW on a south-facing area of roof on the client’s property.
We also installed a 5kW solar battery and a backup box only for essential circuits – for more information on the two kinds of backup box available, read our post on backup boxes.
As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.
We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to suggest ways to optimise their appliance usage and set up plug timers. Then, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions, and to schedule their first free annual check-up.
Results
The client was satisfied with the service from Marblanc Solar, especially our ability to install a system to keep only essential circuits powered during an outage.
