About the Project
The client had a property in Benalmádena and was paying around €2,200 a year on electricity at their holiday home. Marblanc Solar installed a 6.78kW system, which cut the client’s electricity costs to €0 when the property is unoccupied.
Background
The client requested a free solar survey from Marblanc Solar, for which we carried out a home visit, drone inspection, 3D shading analysis, savings estimation and custom proposal.
During the home visit, the client showed our survey engineer a recent electricity bill. The client had paid around €2,200 in the last year on electricity, an average of €182 a month.
The property was a holiday home and the owner wanted to reduce the bills paid, especially when the family wasn’t there.
The results of our free solar survey showed the client could save close to €1,800 a year on electricity. The estimation showed he would be able to cut his electricity costs to €0 (not including standing charges) during the months he was not at the property, and take advantage of a virtual battery to save up credit and reduce bills when the family is in residence.
Following our proposal presentation and some adjustments, the client went ahead with the installation.

Solution
We mounted 12 solar panels with a combined capacity of 6.78kW, a smaller system but enough to cut electricity costs to €0 and save up credit in a virtual battery.
Following installation, we immediately compared solar feed-in tariff providers and selected the best option for the client. Following legal registration of the installation, we moved them to a new virtual battery deal.
We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks and assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups for any future questions, as well as to schedule their first free annual check-ups.
Results
The client was satisfied with the service from Marblanc Solar, especially our ability to factor in the future virtual battery to savings estimations. This meant a lower cost system and faster payback period.
