The client wanted to see if solar could help them save on their energy bills. Marblanc Solar installed a 7.9kW system, which will reduce electricity costs by 91%.
Background
The client had a property in the Costa del Sol town of Benalmadena. They were looking into a budget-friendly solar installation which could help them reduce their monthly household expenses.
Marblanc Solar has completed many solar installations in Benalmadena, and the client requested a free solar survey from us. We set a date for our survey engineer to carry out a home visit, drone inspection, 3D shading analysis, savings estimation and custom proposal.
During the home visit, our survey engineer used existing electricity bills to calculate an annual electricity cost of close to €1,800 a year.
We provided 4 proposals with incremental adjustments, until settling on a 7.9kw system which could reduce their electricity costs to as low as €13 a month – and with a break-even period under five years.
The client accepted this fourth proposals and we set a date for the installation.

Solution
Our team mounted 14 solar panels with a combined capacity of 7.9kW. Usually we aim to cut electricity costs by 80% – but in this case, the system is expected to cut costs by 91%.
Our in-house solar installers needed to make a chase in the wall for the cabling. The work was patched, plastered and painted over until it was inconspicuous.
As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.
We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to suggest ways to optimise their appliance usage and set up plug timers. Then, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions, and to schedule their first free annual check-up.
