The client wanted a solar installation to lower their energy costs and ensure backup power in case of outages, following the nationwide blackout. Marblanc Solar installed a 10kW solar energy system, which will reduce electricity costs by over €3,264 a year.
Background
Located in the Sierra Nevada area of Marbella, this villa belongs to a client who had recently purchased the property and wanted a reliable, efficient energy solution. Beyond cutting bills, the client wanted protection from future power cuts – especially after the nationwide blackout in April 2025, which left many homes without electricity for hours.
Marblanc Solar has completed numerous solar installations in Marbella, helping homeowners take advantage of the region’s excellent solar potential. After the client requested a free solar survey, our team scheduled a site visit, performed a drone survey to assess shading, and prepared a detailed energy proposal.
Our solar survey engineer found that the client’s previous electricity consumption translated to roughly €5,808 annually, averaging around €484 per month.
During the consultation, the client explained that roof space was limited, and they did not wish to use garden areas for ground-mounted panels. This shaped our proposal towards a more compact, high-output system that would fit neatly within the roof area while maintaining aesthetics.
The final proposal included 17 high-efficiency 595W JA Solar panels paired with Huawei inverter and battery technology. This setup would generate ample power while offering resilience through a 10kW solar battery backup and 3kW essential load backup box system, with a projected break-even period of five to six years.

Solution
Our team installed a 10kW system consisting of 17 JA Solar panels on the villa’s available roof space. The compact configuration maximised the limited area while maintaining clean lines that blended seamlessly with the modern aesthetic of the property.
Despite the constraints, the installation was completed smoothly within two days, with all cables hidden and the inverter positioned discreetly in the utility area. No tiles were broken during installation, and the backup box was connected to ensure critical loads would remain powered during outages.
As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.
We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to help optimise their appliance usage with plug timers and use of our solar app. Finally, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions.
Results
The client was particularly pleased with the seamless installation and the added peace of mind that the backup system provided. While roof limitations prevented a full-scale setup, the solution still achieved significant energy independence and long-term savings.
