About the Project
The client wanted to reduce the expensive electricity bills at their holiday home in San Roque, Sotogrande. Marblanc Solar installed a 9.5kW system, which cut the client’s monthly electricity costs by around 85% and cut bills to €0 when the client wasn’t at home.
Background
The client was referred to Marblanc Solar. We set a date for a free solar survey, where we carried out a home visit, drone inspection, 3D shading analysis, savings estimation and custom proposal for the client.
During the home visit, the client mentioned their high electricity bills. Even when the client wasn’t at home they were still paying for electricity to power the pool pump and other appliances.
The client requested that the solar panels be inconspicuous. In particular, the client did not want the panels visible from the swimming pool.
During our inspection and subsequent 3D shading analysis, we discovered the opportunity to fit the panels on the client’s outhouse next to the pool.

Solution
Our free solar survey estimated an 85% bill reduction in peak months when the client wasn’t at home.
We mounted the 19 solar panels with a combined capacity of 9.5kW. After installation, we swapped the client’s bill to a new provider offering a feed-in tariff and virtual battery and helped the client receive €0 electricity bill when they were not at home.
We then monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks. The client was assigned to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups for any future questions and to schedule their first free annual check-ups.
Results
The client was satisfied with the service from Marblanc Solar, in particular our suggestion to install the solar panels on the outhouse roof without compromising on power production or electrical safety.
