About the Project

The client was expecting high electricity bills from high-power appliances at a new build villa in Marbella. Marblanc Solar installed a 15kW system and 15kWh in batteries, which cut the client’s predicted electricity costs by around 75%.

Background

The client’s property was a new build villa in Nueva Andalucí­a, in Marbella.

The client contacted Marblanc Solar with the aim to reduce their electricity bills. We set a date for a free solar survey, where we carried out a home visit, drone inspection, 3D shading analysis, savings estimation and custom proposal for the client.

The client had high-power appliances such as heat-pump powered underfloor heating, multiple AC units and a pool heater.

The property also had an unusual roof with many different sections – we realised during the roof inspection and custom proposal creation that there was not enough south-facing space available for the panels.

We proposed a system that could provide the power required, and showed the client the recommended placement of panels on multiple different roof sections.

Our savings estimation showed an expected 75% monthly bill reduction.

Equipment Installed

Solution

We mounted the 38 solar panels with a combined capacity of 19kW. The panels were installed on different roof sections to maximise the power generation as much as possible.

To provide enough power after dark for the client’s high-power appliances, we recommend 15 kWh in batteries.

Due to frequent power outages, we also installed a battery backup box to ensure priority circuits would stay powered.

We then monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks. This helped us find inefficiencies in the client’s usage of appliances, and we made improvements using plug timers and optimised circuits to reduce grid consumption as much as possible.

The client was assigned to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups for any future questions and to schedule their first free annual check-ups.

Results

The client was satisfied with the service from Marblanc Solar, and the monthly bills were reduced by the expected 75%.
