About the Project

The client wanted a solar installation to reduce their electricity bills while also having protection against blackouts. Marblanc Solar installed a 10kW solar energy system, which will also reduce electricity costs by over €3,156 a year.

Background

This villa in El Pariseo, Estepona is shared by four homeowners who wanted to reduce their energy bills and protect the property during outages.

Marblanc Solar has many solar installations in Estepona, and during the initial consultation the homeowners completed our free solar survey. The survey included an on-site assessment, drone roof scan, shading study and a personalised performance proposal.

During the visit, our survey engineer confirmed the home was spending approximately €8,676 per year on electricity based on an average €723/month cost.

The roof presented a challenge, with 24 different angles and surfaces, requiring design software to identify optimal panel positioning. Using Pylon modelling, our engineers simulated production and identified five flat and five angled surfaces as the highest-yielding areas, shaping the final system design.

The chosen design is expected to reduce electricity expenses by around €3,156 per year.

The homeowners also applied for Sweden’s solar grant scheme, which further supports system affordability—an important secondary benefit in the decision-making process.

Solution

Our team installed a 10kW solar energy system using 17 high-efficiency 595W panels, positioned across the five most productive roof sections identified during Pylon simulation. The Huawei battery and SmartGuard backup system provided resilience against power cuts.

Despite the complex roof geometry and limited visually acceptable locations, the installation was completed with hidden cabling and minimal visible mounting, fully aligned with the clients’ aesthetic priorities.

As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.

We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to help optimise their appliance usage with plug timers and use of our solar app. Finally, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions.

Results

The homeowners were pleased with the outcome: a system that balances aesthetics with performance, reduces annual energy bills by over €3,000, and provides blackout protection with a projected break-even period of just five years.
