About the Project
The client wanted a solar installation to eliminate electricity bills at their holiday home. Marblanc Solar installed a 10kW solar energy system, which will also reduce electricity costs by over €2,076 a year.

Background
Located in Almuñecar on Spain’s southern coastline in Granada, this villa is used as a holiday home throughout the year. But rising energy prices led the owner to look for solar and cut expenses.
Marblanc Solar already has many solar installations in Almuñecar, and as with every project, this installation began with our free solar survey. The survey included a full on-site inspection, drone roof analysis, shading study and a customised proposal outlining performance, projected production and return on investment.
Our survey engineer confirmed the client’s monthly bill averaged around €173 – approximately €2,076 per year.
When preparing our proposal, the first challenge was roof suitability. The villa didn’t have a single large south-facing roof surface suitable for a single array.
Using Pylon simulation software, our team determined the most productive panel layout across two roof sections.
This led to our proposed system and virtual battery pairing. The estimated electricity costs after installation are €0 annually and a monthly credit of €8.80 (approximately €105.60 per year) earned through excess export.
Equipment Installed
- 18 × 595W solar panels
- 1 × Huawei 6kW solar inverter
- 1 × Huawei 5kW solar inverter
Solution
Our team installed a 10kW system using 18 high-efficiency 595W solar panels across two carefully modelled roof areas. The split-roof configuration ensured reliable generation throughout the day while maintaining the villa’s aesthetic.
Working with limited roof orientation, our installers used data from Pylon modelling to determine the most effective placement and tilt configuration. All wiring was concealed and roof tiles were protected using non-invasive mounting techniques.
As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.
We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to help optimise their appliance usage with plug timers and use of our solar app. Finally, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions.
Results
The client was delighted to achieve a full elimination of annual energy costs, with the added bonus of approximately €105.60 in yearly energy credit.
