About the Project

Two relatives wanted solar panels to reduce their electricity bills across two neighbouring family-owned homes. Marblanc Solar installed a pair of 7kW solar energy systems, which will also reduce electricity costs by a combined €3,048 a year.

Background

Two relatives living side by side in Lomas de Río Verde Alto, on the Golden Mile in Marbella, wanted to reduce their electricity bills with clean energy systems installed at the same time.

Marblanc Solar already has many solar installations in Marbella, and both homes began with our free solar survey, which included an on-site assessment, drone mapping, shading analysis and a custom proposal for each property.

During the visits, our survey engineer confirmed annual electricity usage: approximately €1,932/year for the first home and €3,024/year for the second.

Although the homes are semi-detached and similar in structure, only one property had a secondary usable roof section. For the other, our Pylon simulation demonstrated that a custom-built licensed pergola extension was the most effective method to generate enough energy.

Based on projected performance, the systems are expected to reduce the electricity bills collectively by more than €3,048/year.

Equipment Installed

Property 1 (12-panel system):

  • 12 × 595W solar panels
  • 1 × Huawei solar inverter
  • 1 × 8kW Huawei battery

Property 2 (11-panel system):

  • 11 × 595W solar panels
  • 1 × Huawei solar inverter
  • 1 × 8kW Huawei battery

Solution

Our team installed two matching 7kW solar systems – one positioned across the existing roof surfaces, and the second split between available roof space and a custom-engineered pergola installation.

Installation required precision planning due to differences in roof structure between the two homes. All cabling was concealed and surfaces were protected, while the pergola required licensing approval and structural configuration before panel mounting.

As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.

We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to help optimise their appliance usage with plug timers and use of our solar app. Finally, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions.

Results

Both households now benefit from lower monthly energy bills, battery-supported resilience and future-proof solar systems with a projected break-even period of 4–5 years.

The clients were especially happy with the pergola solution, secured licensing and the clean, balanced look across both properties.
