About the Project
The client had already installed solar panels on a previous home in the Netherlands and wanted the same for their new home in Malaga. Marblanc Solar installed a 7.9kW system, which will cut their electricity costs to an expected €2 per year.
Background
The client had recently purchased a villa in Alhaurin del Torre, in the metropolitan area of Malaga. They had installed solar panels on a previous property in the Netherlands and wanted an installation soon after moving into their home in Spain.
Marblanc Solar has completed many solar installations in Malaga, and the client requested a free solar survey after a referral from a previous client. We set a date to carry out a home visit, drone inspection, 3D shading analysis, savings estimation and custom proposal.
During the home visit, our survey engineer used cutting-edge solar software to design a system that would cut their electricity costs from €1,400 a year down to €2 a year.
The client also requested two pieces of equipment: a solar battery for maximum savings and a backup box. Our proposal showed an expected break-even period of 7-8 years, which is longer than usual due to the client’s already low electricity costs and additional equipment. But the client was motivated more by environmental concerns than by a fast payback period.
The client was happy with the 3D visualisation of where we recommended we place the solar panels on the roof, and proceeded with the installation.

Solution
Our team mounted 14 solar panels with a combined capacity of 7.9kW. This solar array was placed on a large south-facing roof section, which already had an ideal tilt.
Our in-house solar installers fit the cables with no damage to any walls or tiles.
As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery. The special electricity rates would have cut the client’s bill by 30% even without solar.
We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to suggest ways to optimise their appliance usage and set up plug timers. Then, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions, and to schedule their first free annual check-up.
Results
The client was satisfied with the service from Marblanc Solar, especially our ability to eliminate the client’s electricity costs.
