Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the calculator take?
There are 5 steps which should take no more than 1-2 minutes to answer.
The result is generated instantly.
What do I need to use the calculator?
You need a copy of a recent electricity bill for your property in Spain.
The calculator requires information about your average monthly consumption (in kWh) and average daily consumption (in €).
What if I don’t have an electricity bill?
If you don’t have an electricity bill or if you can’t figure out your average and annual consumption, then you can ask one of our survey engineers for help. Click here to request a free solar survey and we’ll call you back within one working day to find a suitable time.
What if my electricity consumption is low?
If your average monthly consumption is under 450 kWh (around €90 a month) then the break-even period could be longer than the usual 3-5 years.
But that doesn’t mean solar won’t make sense for you. We have completed solar installations for clients who recently purchased an EV charger or a heat pump, so the solar panels will keep their future bills lower.
Do I need to give my contact information?
You need to provide an email address. The calculator sends a result to your email for you to keep.
After completing the calculation, you have the option to request a Free Solar Survey from Marblanc Solar. This is optional.
If you accept, you will need to provide a telephone number.
If you decline, none of your data is retained by this website.
How accurate is the Solar Break Even Calculator?
The calculator is the most accurate one we know of in the Costa del Sol in Spain.
This is because:
- It uses localised climate data for the Costa del Sol to estimate the system size you need
- It uses recent quotes in 2025 to estimate the break-even for systems of the same size
- It contains information about property tax reductions and income tax deductions
- It bases the break-even estimation by calculating an 80% saving on your annual electricity bill – it is unrealistic that you’ll get a 100% saving due to standing charges and nighttime consumption
