8 Solar Panels in Els Poblets, Alicante

We reduced a client's electricity bills by 43% after installing 8 solar panels with battery storage on their villa in Els Poblets, Alicante.

About the Project

Marblanc Solar installed a 4.8kW solar system with 5kWh battery storage on a characterful detached villa in Els Poblets, Alicante. Eight JA Solar panels were distributed across two roof planes to make the most of the available south-west facing aspect, paired with a Huawei battery to extend the system’s output into the evening hours. The installation is projected to save the client €1,576 a year – reducing their annual electricity bill by 43%.

Background

The client’s electricity bills were running at over €300 a month – €3,667 a year – and they wanted a system that would make a meaningful long-term difference, not just offset a portion of daytime consumption. Evening energy use was a priority, which made battery storage an important part of the brief from the outset.

For other installations in Alicante, the starting point is always a free solar survey – an on-site visit that combines drone analysis, shading assessment, consumption modelling, and a tailored proposal built around the property’s specific characteristics and the client’s actual usage patterns.

At this property, survey engineer Enrique Ferreiro carried out a detailed energy assessment that took into account:

The south-west orientation of both roof sections means the system peaks in production during the afternoon – precisely when a 5kWh battery can capture surplus generation and hold it for use after sunset. Our energy modelling confirmed that adding the Huawei LUNA2000-5-S0 battery would push the system’s self-consumption rate from 58% (solar only) to 77%, with storage accounting for an additional 10% of the home’s energy needs. The proposal projected annual savings of €1,576 and a first-year average monthly bill of €174 – down from €305.

Equipment Installed

Solution

Our team installed the 8 panels across two separate roof sections of the villa – a configuration that required careful planning to ensure both arrays were optimally positioned on the south-west facing aspect and integrated cleanly into a single system. The split layout makes use of the full available roof area while keeping the installation visually balanced across the property’s distinctive terracotta-tiled roofline.

All cabling was fully concealed within the existing roof structure, with UV-rated DC and AC wiring routed cleanly out of sight. High-grade waterproof membranes and chemical resin were used at every fixing point to ensure a weather-resistant, leak-proof finish that preserves the integrity of the original tiled roof.

After installation, our engineers secured a feed-in tariff with virtual battery to maximise the value of any surplus energy exported to the grid. Aftersales care began immediately – two weeks of daily monitoring of electricity usage, plug timer optimisation, and setup of the solar monitoring app were followed by the client being added to the Monday–Sunday WhatsApp aftercare group for ongoing support.

Results

The system is projected to save the client €1,576 a year, cutting their annual electricity bill from €3,667 to an estimated €2,091 - a 43% reduction. The discounted payback period is 6–7 years, against a 20-year NPV of €35,114 and a total ROI of 312%. The 43% bill reduction falls short of the Marblanc 80% promise, which reflects the scale of the property's consumption relative to the 4.8kW system size - the proposal was sized and priced to the client's brief, with the battery adding meaningful evening coverage on top of the daytime generation.
