We reduced a client's electricity bills by 68% after installing 15 solar panels on their villa in Benahavís, Málaga - saving over €1,900 a year.
Marblanc Solar installed an 8.4kWp solar system across two roof sections of a traditional tiled villa in Benahavís, Málaga. The 15-panel system – comprising two different panel models sized to fit the available roof geometry – cuts the client’s annual electricity bill by 68%, saving over €1,911 a year.
With an annual electricity bill of €2,803.70, the client was looking for a reliable way to reduce running costs at their Benahavís villa. The property’s size and consumption meant a system with real generating capacity was needed – not a token installation.
Benahavís sits in one of our most active areas for residential solar work. You can browse our installations in Benahavís to see the range of properties and system sizes we work with in the municipality. For this client, the process started with a free solar survey – an on-site visit that included a drone analysis of the roof, a shading assessment, a review of historical consumption data, and a full system simulation to model expected output and savings across the year.
Survey engineer Alan Manning led the assessment. Our energy modelling took into account:
The defining characteristic of this proposal was the panel selection. Rather than fitting a single panel model across the available space, our team specified 6 × 500W and 9 × 600W panels – two complementary models from the JA Solar DeepBlue 4.0 range – to make the most of both roof sections without compromise. As with our residential solar installation in Nueva Atalaya, Benahavís, the brief here was to maximise energy production to cover a high-consumption household – and the system was sized accordingly, at 8.4kWp with a projected annual output of 14,484 kWh. The proposal projected a reduction in the average monthly bill from €233.64 to €74.32, with annual savings of €1,911.83.
Our installation team mounted the panels across the two south-facing roof sections of the villa – six of the 500W panels on one face and nine of the 600W panels on the other, each array aligned to maximise exposure across the roof’s geometry. The Huawei SUN2000-8KTL-M1 is a three-phase inverter capable of handling the combined output of both arrays efficiently, with a maximum efficiency rating of 98.6%.
All cabling was routed cleanly out of sight using UV and fire-rated conduit, with surge protection, isolators, and grounding materials installed to current REBT/IEC standards. The Sunfer Microrail mounting system was engineered specifically for the existing terracotta tile roof, with high-grade chemical resin and waterproof membranes used at every fixing point to preserve the integrity of the roof structure.
After commissioning, our aftersales care service came into effect. We secured the client’s feed-in tariff with a virtual battery, then monitored daily electricity usage for the first two weeks – adjusting plug timer settings to optimise self-consumption and walking the client through the Huawei FusionSolar monitoring app. The client was also added to our Monday–Sunday WhatsApp aftercare group for ongoing support.
Our Free Solar Survey includes: home visit, drone inspection, 3D performance model, two custom proposals and break-even estimations.
