We reduced a client's electricity bills by 67% after installing 18 solar panels on their villa in Marbella, Málaga - saving over €2,185 a year.
Marblanc Solar installed an 18-panel, 10.71kWp system on a villa in Marbella, Málaga, cutting the client’s electricity costs by 67% and delivering projected annual savings of €2,185.99. The Huawei three-phase inverter, paired with eight power optimisers, was specified to handle the demands of a complex multi-pitch roof with panels distributed across several different faces.
The client was spending €3,279.38 a year on electricity – €273.28 a month on average – and wanted a system that could make a meaningful dent in those costs. For a property of this size and character in Marbella, that level of spend is not unusual, but it left clear room for solar to deliver a strong return.
For clients in this area, we have a track record of designing systems around the specific demands of Marbella villas. You can see more of our installations in Marbella on our website. Every project begins with a free solar survey – an on-site assessment that combines a drone roof survey, shading analysis, consumption review, and a detailed system simulation to produce a proposal tailored to the property.
Survey engineer Alan Manning carried out the assessment at this Marbella villa. His energy assessment took into account:
The defining challenge here was the roof itself. With no single dominant south-facing plane, the system had to be designed across four separate roof faces – each receiving a different amount of solar irradiance across the day. As with our 38-panel installation with 15kWh battery at Nueva Andalucía, where limited south-facing space on a complex multi-section roof required panels to be distributed across several different planes, the solution here depended on careful placement and component-level optimisation to make the most of every available surface. The proposal modelled projected savings of €2,185.99 per year, bringing the average monthly bill down from €273.28 to €91.12.
Our installation team mounted the 18 panels across the villa’s four usable roof faces, working carefully across the hip roof’s south-west, south-east, north-west, and north-east sections. Eight power optimisers were installed at panel level – one per panel on the faces most affected by orientation variation and inter-roof shading – allowing each panel to operate independently and preventing underperforming strings from dragging down overall system output. The Huawei SUN2000-10KTL-M1 three-phase inverter, running at 98.6% maximum efficiency, was selected to handle the combined output of a multi-string system of this complexity.
All cabling was fully concealed within the roof structure, routed cleanly out of sight to keep the finish clean across a roofline visible from multiple angles. The Sunfer MicroRail mounting system was fixed using chemical resin and waterproofing materials to ensure a weather-resistant, leak-proof finish across every penetration point on all four roof sections.
Following installation, our team registered the client for a feed-in tariff with virtual battery, allowing surplus solar generation to be credited against future bills. Over the following two weeks, we monitored daily electricity usage, adjusted plug timer settings to shift consumption into peak solar hours, and set up the FusionSolar app so the client could track generation and savings in real time. The client was also added to our Monday–Sunday WhatsApp group for ongoing aftersales care – the same support structure that covers every Marblanc installation.
