We reduced a client's electricity bills by 80% after installing 10 solar panels on their villa in Orihuela, Alicante - saving over €1,200 a year.
A client with a modern villa in Orihuela, Alicante wanted to cut their electricity costs significantly and reduce their reliance on the grid. Marblanc Solar designed and installed a 6kW system using 10 high-output JA Solar panels on their flat roof, reducing their annual electricity bill by 80% and saving over €1,207 in the first year alone.
Electricity costs at the property were running at €125.54 a month – €1,506.50 a year – and the client wanted a reliable, long-term solution to bring those bills down significantly. For a villa of this size and character in inland Alicante, solar represented a clear opportunity, and the client was keen to understand exactly what the numbers would look like before committing.
For installations in Orihuela, we begin with a free solar survey – an on-site visit that includes a drone analysis of the roof, a shading assessment, a full review of the property’s energy consumption, and a tailored proposal modelled on the specific conditions of the site.
Survey engineer Miguel Ángel Ruiz Zapardiel carried out the assessment and ran a detailed energy model for the property. The assessment took into account:
The energy modelling confirmed a 6kW system would be the right fit. With 10 × 600W panels and a Huawei inverter, the system is projected to generate 9,389 kWh annually – enough to cut the client’s bill by 80% and save €1,207.04 a year. The discounted payback period sits at 5–6 years, with a 20-year ROI of 315% and an NPV of €24,532.93.
Our team installed the 10 panels across the flat roof in three rows, using the Sunfer Microrail mounting system to set each panel at the correct tilt angle for maximum solar yield. Flat-roof installations require this additional framing to compensate for the absence of natural pitch – the system was designed and engineered specifically for the roof dimensions and panel layout confirmed during the survey.
All DC and AC cabling was fully concealed within the structure, routed cleanly out of sight to maintain the clean lines of the villa’s contemporary exterior. Roof penetrations were sealed with high-grade waterproof membranes and chemical resin compounds, preserving the integrity of the flat roof and ensuring a weather-resistant, long-term finish.
Following installation, we secured the client’s feed-in tariff with a virtual battery arrangement, allowing surplus energy exported to the grid to offset future bills. Over the first two weeks, our team monitored daily electricity usage, adjusted plug timer settings to align consumption with peak solar hours, and set up the Huawei FusionSolar app so the client could track generation and savings in real time. The client was also added to our Monday–Sunday WhatsApp aftersales care group for ongoing support.
Our Free Solar Survey includes: home visit, drone inspection, 3D performance model, two custom proposals and break-even estimations.
