Marblanc Solar installed a 9kW solar system with integrated battery storage and backup power at a private villa in Mijas, Málaga. Fifteen 600W panels were mounted on a flat roof terrace using a tilt-frame structure, paired with a Sigenergy all-in-one inverter and battery system. The result: a 98% reduction in electricity costs, bringing a monthly bill of €154 down to under €4.
The client’s goal was straightforward: eliminate their electricity bill as far as practically possible. Running a substantial villa in Mijas – with a pool, landscaped gardens, and year-round occupancy – the annual spend of €1,851.80 was a significant and growing overhead. With energy prices continuing to rise, they wanted a system sized to make the maximum dent in that cost, with battery storage to extend the benefit into the evening hours.
For installations in Mijas, demand for systems capable of high self-consumption ratios has grown steadily as more homeowners look to move away from grid dependency. The client requested a free solar survey to understand what was achievable on their property – an on-site assessment that combined a drone roof analysis, shading scan, consumption review, and a detailed energy model tailored to the villa’s usage profile.

Battery storage was integral to achieving the 98% target. As with our residential solar installation in Benalmádena, this client’s primary objective was to maximise production and eliminate grid dependency – and the addition of a 9.04kWh battery unit made that achievable around the clock, not just during daylight hours. The proposal projected annual savings of €1,805.55, reducing the monthly bill from €154.32 to an average of €3.85.
Our team installed all 15 panels on the villa’s flat roof terrace, using the Sunfer Microrail tilt-frame structure to angle the panels towards the south/south-west at an optimised pitch for year-round production in Málaga. With the surrounding pitched roofs unsuitable for mounting, the terrace gave us a clean, unobstructed zone with excellent solar access – and the tilt-frame setup ensured the array performs consistently across the full seasonal range rather than relying on a low winter sun angle.
All cabling was routed cleanly out of sight, with UV and fire-rated DC and AC cabling run through conduit to protect the roof structure and meet current REBT/IEC electrical standards. The Sigenergy SigenStor EC 10.0 SP functions as both inverter and energy manager, integrating directly with the SigenStor BAT 10.0 battery and the HomePro TP gateway – a single cohesive system that handles generation, storage, backup protection, and real-time usage monitoring without the need for separate components.
Following installation, our aftersales care programme began immediately. We secured a feed-in tariff with a virtual battery arrangement, then spent two weeks monitoring daily consumption patterns and adjusting plug timer settings to align with peak solar hours. The client was added to our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare group for ongoing technical support, and the solar monitoring app was configured so they can track production and consumption in real time.
