We reduced a client's electricity costs by over €2,184 a year after installing 20 solar panels on their villa in Estepona, Málaga.
Marblanc Solar installed a 10kWp solar system on a detached villa in Estepona, Málaga – 20 panels across two roof planes, with a power optimiser on every panel. The installation is projected to save the client €2,184.81 per year, reducing their electricity bill by 67%.
The client’s electricity bill was running at €270.64 a month – €3,247.70 a year – and they wanted to bring that figure down significantly. With a substantial villa, a large pool, and year-round energy demand, solar was the logical step.
We’ve carried out a number of installations in Estepona and the surrounding area, and the client came to us after researching local providers. After an initial conversation, we arranged a free solar survey – an on-site visit that combined a drone roof assessment, shading analysis, and a full review of the property’s energy consumption, producing a tailored proposal based on actual usage data and roof conditions.
The survey was carried out by Alan Manning, who modelled the system around the specific demands of this property. The energy assessment took into account:
The split roof orientation and surrounding tree cover were the defining challenges. As with our power optimiser installation in El Pariseo, Estepona, where the client wanted reliable solar output alongside protection against supply disruptions, the proposal here called for a Huawei SUN2000-600W-P2 power optimiser on every panel – allowing each one to perform independently regardless of shading or orientation. The result is a system that extracts maximum output from both roof planes throughout the day. The proposal projected annual savings of €2,184.81, bringing the average monthly bill down from €270.64 to €88.57.
Our team installed the 20 panels across two roof planes – a larger array on the north-west-facing upper pitch and a secondary group on the lower south-facing section. Working around the property’s distinctive central turret required precise positioning to make full use of the available roof area on both faces. A Huawei SUN2000-600W-P2 power optimiser was fitted to every panel, ensuring each one operates at its individual maximum output point – a critical detail on a roof where the two arrays receive different sun angles throughout the day and where tree cover to the south and west creates variable shading conditions.
All cabling was fully concealed within the roof structure, routed cleanly from both arrays to the Huawei SUN2000-10K-MAP0 inverter. High-grade waterproof membranes and sealing compounds were applied at every fixing point, preserving the integrity of the terracotta tiled roof and ensuring a weather-resistant, long-term finish.
Following installation, we secured the client’s feed-in tariff with a virtual battery, enabling any surplus energy generated during the day to be credited against evening consumption. Over the first two weeks, our installation team monitored daily electricity usage, adjusted plug timers to align with peak solar hours, and set up the Huawei FusionSolar app so the client could track output and savings in real time. The client was also added to our Monday–Sunday WhatsApp aftersales care group for ongoing support.
