We reduced a client's electricity bills by over €1,867 a year after installing 22 solar panels on their villa in San Roque, Cádiz.
Marblanc Solar installed a 9.46kWp solar system across the multi-pitch terracotta tiled roof of a large villa in San Roque, Cádiz. The 22-panel system – supported by a full set of power optimisers – was designed to maximise output across multiple roof orientations, cutting the client’s annual electricity bill by over €1,867.
With an annual electricity bill of €5,711.70, the client was spending well above average for a residential property – and wanted a system that would make a meaningful, long-term reduction to that cost. The villa’s size, pool, and year-round occupancy all pointed to a system capable of generating substantial daytime output consistently across every month of the year.
For clients in this part of Cádiz, we regularly see strong results – you can browse our installations in San Roque to see the kind of savings achievable in this area. As with every project we take on, the process started with a free solar survey – an on-site visit combined with drone analysis, shading assessment, and a tailored energy model built around the specific characteristics of the property.
The survey was carried out by Alan Manning, whose energy assessment took into account:
The roof layout was the defining challenge. With no single dominant south-facing aspect and mature vegetation casting variable shade at different times of day, a standard string configuration would have allowed the weakest-performing panels to limit output across the whole array. As with our 33-panel installation in Sotogrande – where the client similarly wanted to reduce high monthly bills and ensure reliable performance – power optimisers were specified from the outset, allowing each of the 22 panels to operate independently. The proposal projected annual savings of €1,867.94, bringing the average monthly bill down from €475.97 to €320.31.
Our team installed the 22 panels across two main roof sections of the villa – a larger group on the rear elevation and a second group on the front-facing slope – working with the multi-pitch layout to place each panel where it would contribute most effectively to overall system output. The Huawei SUN2000-10K-MAP0 three-phase inverter was positioned to manage the full 9.46kWp array, with one optimiser per panel ensuring that shading from the surrounding palms and mature trees at any point in the day had no knock-on effect across the rest of the system.
All cabling was fully concealed within the existing roof structure and routed neatly out of sight, keeping the finish clean against the terracotta tiles. High-grade waterproof membranes and sealing compounds were applied at every fixing point to preserve the integrity of the tiled roof and ensure a weather-resistant, long-term result.
Following installation, we secured the client’s feed-in tariff with a virtual battery to maximise the value of any surplus generation. Our team then carried out two weeks of daily monitoring – tracking actual consumption against solar output, fine-tuning plug timer settings, and walking the client through the Huawei FusionSolar app. Ongoing aftersales care continues through the Monday–Sunday WhatsApp support group, where the client can reach the team directly at any point.
Our Free Solar Survey includes: home visit, drone inspection, 3D performance model, two custom proposals and break-even estimations.
