About the Project

The client wanted a solar installation to reduce their electricity bills. Marblanc Solar installed a 10.2kWp solar energy system, which will also reduce electricity costs by over €2,220 a year.

Background

The homeowner in Rio del Castor, Estepona, wanted to go solar to gain control over their soaring electricity bills and invest in a more sustainable energy source for their property.

Marblanc Solar has completed many successful installations in Estepona, and this project began, as all do, with our comprehensive free solar survey. This process includes an on-site visit, a detailed drone analysis of the property, a shading scan to maximise sun exposure, and the creation of a tailored proposal.

During the consultation, our survey engineer learned from past electricity bills that the client was spending almost €3,500 a year on electricity.

The client wanted a system that would significantly reduce their costs without compromising the aesthetics of their villa. Our team used specialised Pylon software to simulate energy production and calculate the optimal placement for the 17 panels on the roof, ensuring maximum efficiency while maintaining a clean look.

Our proposal detailed how the installation would reduce their electricity bills by over €2,220 a year, bringing their average monthly cost down from around €290 to just €105.

Solution

Following the client’s approval, our team proceeded with the installation of the 10.2kWp system. We strategically mounted the 17 high-efficiency JA Solar panels on the villa’s roof to maximise solar generation throughout the day.

Our experienced installers ensured all cabling was hidden neatly to maintain the property’s aesthetic. We protected the roof structure during the process and secured the solar panels to withstand extreme weather, completing the entire installation faster than the client expected.

As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.

We then monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to help optimise their appliance usage with plug timers and use of our solar app. Finally, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions.

Results

The final installation is projected to save the client over €2,220 annually, achieving a bill reduction of nearly 64% and a system break-even point of just 5-6 years. While our initial proposal aimed for an 80% reduction, the client requested a slightly adjusted design to better suit the villa's aesthetics, and we were happy to deliver a customised solution that still provides substantial long-term savings.
