We helped a client save €4,831 a year on electricity bills after installing a 26.555kW solar system with 15kWh battery storage at their Airbnb rental property in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella — reducing their bills by 69%.
The client was paying around €7,000 a year on electricity at their Airbnb rental property in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella. Marblanc Solar initially installed a 14.125kW system across 25 panels, delivering immediate savings. After seeing the results, the client returned for a full upgrade – expanding the system to 26.555kW with 15kWh of battery storage and bringing their estimated annual savings to €4,831.
The client requested a Free Solar Survey from Marblanc Solar. We arranged for our survey engineer to complete a site visit, consultation, and drone inspection of the roof.
During the home visit, the client showed our survey engineer a recent electricity bill. They had paid €7,119 in the last year – around €593 per month. The bill was relatively high due as the property was an Airbnb rental equipped with high-power AC units and other high-draw appliances.
The client’s primary goal was to reduce operating expenses. However, the client didn’t want the panels to be overly visible from the property’s grounds, which limited the available roof space. Based on the results of our original free solar survey, we proposed a 25-panel system that the client could expect to save approximately €3,000 a year – reducing their average monthly bill from €593 to around €340. The client was happy with this and proceeded with a smaller installation first.
After seeing real-world savings from Phase 1, the client came back to Marblanc Solar wanting a system upgrade. With an appetite to maximise savings, we designed an expanded system that added 22 more panels, a second inverter, and two additional battery modules – bringing the total to 26.555kW with 15kWh of usable battery storage.
Across both phases, we installed 47 JA Solar DeepBlue 3.0 Pro panels across five roof sections at varying tilts and azimuths to maximise year-round generation. The full system produces an estimated 42,417kWh annually at 87% system efficiency.
When we designed Phase 1, we were deliberate about future-proofing. The Huawei SUN2000-15KTL-M3 inverter and the initial LUNA2000 battery module were specified and wired in a way that would make expansion straightforward. This meant Phase 2 was cleaner, faster, and more cost-effective to deliver.
For Phase 2, we added a second Huawei SUN2000-10KTL-M1 inverter to handle the additional array capacity, and expanded battery storage from 5kWh to 15kWh by adding two further LUNA2000-5-S0 modules. The battery system now stores surplus daytime generation for use in the evenings and after dark.
Following installation, we compared solar feed-in tariff providers and moved the client to the most competitive virtual battery deal available. After legal registration of the full installation, we continued monitoring their usage and kept them in our Monday–Sunday WhatsApp aftercare group for ongoing support and their scheduled free check-up. All this is part of our Aftersales Care Services.
Our Free Solar Survey includes: home visit, drone inspection, 3D performance model, two custom proposals and break-even estimations.
