Marbella, Spain — September 2026
Marblanc Solar has published a review of the aftersales care offered by 21 solar companies operating in Spain.
We recorded what each company publishes about warranties, servicing, monitoring, emergency response and paperwork support. A pattern quickly emerged.
Companies describe the sale in detail but very few describe what happens once the installation is complete.
We built this study because our clients kept asking a question the market answers badly: who will help me once the installers have left?
a 25-year product backed by a two-year promise
Manufacturer warranties on panels commonly run to 25 years or more. However, the guarantee covering the company that mounted them to your roof is a different document, and shorter.
Of the 21 companies reviewed, eight publish no workmanship warranty at all. One more offers a warranty without stating its length. Among the 12 that publish a figure, the median is two years.
Only three companies exceed five years.
A workmanship warranty covers the installation itself — mounting, cabling, sealing, commissioning. When a roof leaks around a bracket or an isolator fails, that is the document you rely on. The manufacturer’s 25-year panel warranty does not cover it.
Four more findings
1. The same panels carry different warranties depending on who fits them.
Twelve companies extend manufacturer warranties to their full term. Six stop at 10 to 12 years. Most manufacturers grant extended terms only when the installer registers the product correctly after commissioning. Identical hardware ends up with a decade’s difference in cover, decided by paperwork that is rarely mentioned at the quote stage.
2. Ongoing care is a subscription for two-thirds of the market.
Fourteen companies charge for ongoing aftercare. Four include it — two for three years, two for one year. Published prices run from €9 to €49 per month, with joining fees up to €99.
3. Almost nobody commits to turning up when it breaks.
Emergency callout was the least common service in the study: four companies out of 21. It is also the service most buyers assume they are already paying for.
4. “Subsidy support” means two different things.
Ten companies file grant and subsidy paperwork on your behalf. Three offer advice and then refer you to a gestor. Both describe it on their websites using similar language. The difference is worth real money, and it takes a direct question to uncover.
The gap between the sales page and the contract
One finding changes how the rest should be read.
On one company, we compared the marketing pages against the published terms. A blog post said all necessary permits were handled. The terms placed permits on the customer, and called any help discretionary.
Both can be true at once. The company may handle the paperwork every time. But the contract is what you can enforce.
We checked terms in detail for one company, not all 21. This is not a market-wide claim. It is a reason to read the warranty document before you sign.
What ongoing care costs, where it is published
Only seven of the 21 companies publish a price for ongoing aftercare. That is itself a finding.
| Company | Included or charged | Published price |
|---|---|---|
| Marblanc Solar | Included for 3 years | No additional charge |
| MiSolar | Included for 3 years | No additional charge |
| EDP Solar | Included for 1 year | No additional charge in year one |
| Octopus Energy España | Included for 1 year | No additional charge in year one |
| Otovo | Charged | €9–€49 per month, plus €99 joining fee |
| Holaluz | Charged | Around €12 per month |
| Quantica Renovables | Charged | From €9 per month |
| Redwood Solar | Charged | €150 per year including IVA |
Regional installers vs national brands
The two groups have opposite strengths though neither is better across the board.
| Regional installers (8) | National brands (13) | |
|---|---|---|
| Performance guarantee | 1 | 8 |
| Customer app or portal | 2 | 12 |
| Workmanship warranty published | 4 | 9 |
| Manufacturer warranty fully extended | 4 | 8 |
| Files subsidy paperwork for you | 3 | 7 |
| Emergency callout | 1 | 3 |
National brands lead on guarantees, apps and monitoring. Regional installers are weaker on published workmanship warranties than we expected, including several that compete directly with us.
We should be equally direct about Marblanc. Nine companies publish a performance guarantee and we do not. Ten file subsidy paperwork for the customer, and our aftercare page does not say whether we do. Both are gaps, and we are fixing them.

How we did this
We selected 21 companies across English-speaking regional installers and national energy brands operating in Spain. Each was checked across its homepage, services pages, FAQs, on-site search and published terms and conditions.
This study records what companies publish, not what they do in practice. A blank means we could not find published information, not that a service is unavailable.
Data was collected in September 2026. Companies change their published terms often.
If your company is listed and the record is wrong, email enquiries@marblancsolar.com with the correction and a link.
We will update the table and note the change.
