We cut a client's electricity costs by around €500 a year after installing 9 solar panels on their villa in Hondón de los Frailes, Alicante.
A client in Hondón de los Frailes, Alicante asked Marblanc Solar to design a solar system for their detached rural villa. We installed 9 × 600W panels on the south-facing pitch, delivering a 5.4kWp system projected to save approximately €500 per year on electricity bills.
The client was keen to reduce electricity costs for their rural villa with a swimming pool. The combination of higher consumption in April-May and October-November – due to a pool heat pump – and a clear south-facing roof section made solar a great fit.
We carry out installations across Alicante regularly, and this property shared several characteristics with jobs we’ve completed elsewhere in the province. The client arranged a free solar survey – an on-site visit that included a drone analysis of the roof, a detailed shading assessment, a review of historical consumption data, and a full system simulation to size the installation correctly.
Miguel Ángel Ruiz Zapardiel led the energy assessment, which took into account:
That last point shaped the proposal in a meaningful way. Rather than distributing generated power evenly across every circuit – the approach many standard inverters take – the system was designed around a Deye inverter that can direct power to the pool pump first, with only the surplus feeding the rest of the house.
There are many inverters on the market with sophisticated built-in energy management systems. But given the property’s overall consumption was relatively modest, that extra layer wasn’t needed here. The Deye delivered the pool-pump prioritisation that actually mattered for this property, making it the right specification for the job rather than an over-engineered one.
Our team installed all 9 panels on the south-facing pitch of the villa’s roof – the one face with a clear, unobstructed solar aspect. The panel arrangement was positioned to make the most of the available south-facing space while keeping the layout clean and structurally balanced. The Deye hybrid inverter was installed and configured to integrate with the home’s existing electrical system, with monitoring set up so the client can track generation and consumption in real time.
All cabling was fully concealed within the existing roof and wall structure, routed cleanly out of sight from both inside and outside the property. The Sunfer Microrail mounting system was fixed with high-grade chemical resin and waterproof membranes, preserving the integrity of the terracotta tiled roof and ensuring a weather-resistant, long-term finish.
After installation, our engineers secured a feed-in tariff with virtual battery, allowing surplus generation to be credited against future bills. Over the following two weeks, we monitored daily electricity usage, adjusted plug timer settings to maximise solar self-consumption, and set up the client on the solar monitoring app. Ongoing support continues through our seven-day WhatsApp aftersales care group.
Our Free Solar Survey includes: home visit, drone inspection, 3D performance model, two custom proposals and break-even estimations.
