About the Project
The client wanted a solar installation to reduce rising electricity bills and charge their newly purchased electric car using solar power. Marblanc Solar installed a 6.5kW solar energy system, which will also reduce electricity costs by over €1,524 a year.

Background
The client, based in Urbanización Riviera del Sol in Mijas, wanted to reduce energy costs and charge their new electric vehicle sustainably, while powering their home year-round.
Marblanc Solar has many solar installations in Mijas, and this project began with our free solar survey, including an on-site visit, drone mapping, shading analysis and a personalised proposal.
During the initial assessment, our survey engineer learned that the client was spending approximately €1,824 per year on electricity prior to owning an electric vehicle.
Because the supplied bill did not include EV charging, we used Pylon design software to estimate the future energy usage profile and determine the ideal number of panels needed.
The proposal is expected to reduce annual energy costs by approximately €1,524.
Real total savings will be higher as the homeowner will now charge their vehicle using solar power rather than paying grid rates.
Equipment Installed
- 11 × 595W solar panels
- 1 × 6kW Huawei solar inverter
- 1 × 7kW Huawei battery
- 1 × 7kW Huawei smart EV charger
Solution
Our team installed a 6.5kW solar energy system across the most productive roof surfaces, paired with a matching Huawei battery and integrated EV charger. This ensured the property could store surplus daytime generation and use it to charge the vehicle at night.
The main challenge was predicting post-installation energy usage due to the recent EV purchase. Using Pylon modelling, we configured the ideal layout and system size while keeping the design visually tidy with hidden cabling.
The installation was fully financed through our partner Pontio.
As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.
We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to help optimise their appliance usage with plug timers and use of our solar app. Finally, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions.
Results
The client now benefits from dramatically reduced bills, solar-powered EV charging, backup storage and a modern future-proof energy setup — all financed with no upfront cost.
The system is projected to pay for itself in seven years and will offer increasing long-term value as electricity prices rise.
