About the Project

The client wanted a solar installation to eliminate energy bills completely and become as self-sufficient as possible throughout the year. Marblanc Solar installed an 8kW solar energy system, which will also reduce electricity costs by over €2,352 a year.

Background

Our client in Alora wanted far more than just savings — the priority was total independence from the grid and a system capable of running the home even during outages.

Marblanc Solar has completed numerous solar installations in Malaga and surrounding towns like Alora, and the client asked us for a free solar survey. During the survey, our team completed a full on-site inspection, drone roof mapping, detailed shading assessment and a customised proposal showing long-term system performance.

Our survey engineer confirmed the property’s average electricity bill was approximately €201 per month — around €2,412 per year.

With the new system and virtual battery, the client is expected to achieve a €5 monthly surplus or, in practical terms, operate at €0 net electricity cost.

The final configuration included 14 high-efficiency 595W solar panels paired with a Huawei 10kW battery and SmartGuard technology. With an estimated 5–6 year break-even period and the ability to run fully off-grid during outages, the system offers both excellent financial value and long-term energy independence.

Solution

Our team installed a high-performance 8kW system across the property’s most productive roof areas, balancing energy output with discreet design. The system was integrated with the SmartGuard backup box to allow the villa to operate independently from the grid during power interruptions.

Despite the compact roof space, we achieved an efficient layout with clean cable routing and a seamless finish. The inverter and battery were positioned to allow easy monitoring while remaining discreet and maintaining the villa’s visual style.

As part of our post-installation support, we then secured an exclusive solar feed-in tariff with a virtual battery.

We also monitored the client’s electricity usage every day for two weeks to help optimise their appliance usage with plug timers and use of our solar app. Finally, we assigned the client to one of our Monday-Sunday WhatsApp aftercare groups, should they have any questions.

Results

The client was delighted to achieve complete independence from traditional electricity billing, with expected yearly operating costs at or near zero. The installation delivered exactly what he wanted: strong performance, long-term savings, full backup capability, and a system designed for maximum self-sufficiency.
